What are your local tracks?

Postby MDF3530 » Thu Apr 14, 2011 1:19 pm

What are everyone's local tracks?

Besides Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, I have Grundy County Speedway in Morris and Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Indiana.

I need to get out to both places this summer. Didn't have much of a chance last summer with my mom and all.

For me Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway is local as it gets for me!

Limaland Motorsports Park is also close by - owned by UNOH

both places are frequented by NASCAR drivers who have dirt roots!

Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna, Wisc. where Matt AND Ross are Red, White and Blue Series Champions and Matt was a 2 time Thursday night weekly series Champion. I am a track/club official there so I have had the pleasure of seeing both of them first hand from the beginnings of their careers, and to chat with them all the time!

Fish fry's are not big here in TN but I wish they were! I love it. Cracker Barrel is actually pretty good...

Madison International Speedway, Jefferson Speedway, Columbus, and Slinger. Have seen Matt and Ross race several times, and was at Madison the first time they ever raced against each other!
Go fast, turn left!

Closest dirt track is Camden,TN speedway. Closest asphalt is Nashville Fairgrounds, going to try and go see Ross run the All American 400 again this Ocotber there, went in 2010 and he finished 3rd.

Closest active Nascar track is Talladega now that Nashville Superspeedway is closed.

My local track is the I-25 Speedway north of Pueblo, CO. I go there 3-5 times each summer. It is a paved 1/4 mile banked oval. Late models and Grand Am Modifieds can do about 12 second laps on it. Not a lot of cars but plenty of fun. The locals really get after it. I like the Legends class because the track is more suited to that size car. Most Colorado drivers try to run up in Denver, where the pay window usually has a better deal.
