• Chain letters, urban legends, or virus warnings (real or hoax)
• Postings that contain hyperlinks to sites that violate any of these guidelines

Special note: Some latitude will be given in the Official Race Day posts, which are intended to function as a sort of chat room for people watching or otherwise following live racing. Certain comments made in race posts may not be allowed elsewhere on the message board.

NO PROFANITY OR OBSCENE LANGUAGE.

This forum utilizes word filters to prevent such language from appearing. Messages that attempt to circumvent the filters by replacing letters in obscene words with wildcards (*) will be removed or edited.

DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS.

As defined by Wikipedia, a troll is “someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line community … with the intention of baiting users into an argumentative response.” Furthermore, “A troll is a person who approaches a board with the specific intention of stirring things up, either as a goal in and of itself or as a means of attacking the board perhaps motivated by opposition to the ethos of the board.”

DO NOT RESPOND TO TROLLING POSTS. You may send an email or private message to any moderator to point out such comments. Or you can simply wait until we become aware of the post via other means to remove it.

PROPER GRAMMAR, SPELLING, AND PUNCTUATION IS APPRECIATED

While we are not the grammar and spelling police, please understand that posts written clearly and spelled correctly are more likely to be read and responded to than those with poor spelling and grammar. If you have trouble spelling, compose your messages in a word processor with a spell checker, or download and use the free Google Tool Bar or Firefox web browser, which have built-in spell-checking.

Avoid posting in ALL CAPS, which is considered to be shouting when writing online.

COMPLAINTS OR COMMENTS

Complaints or comments about the moderating or management of this forum should be directed to a member of the staff and not posted directly on the message board.
