Looks like rain all weekend .. hope that forecast changes in the next 24 to 48 hours. Good deal yesterday with 6 race primary sponsorship from Circle K. Matt's still needs some more primary sponsorship, but I think with Circle K on board he has a primary sponsor for all but 9 remaining races. Dewalt (15), Circle K (6), Tide (3), Peak/Blue Def (2) ... Toyota sponsored one race so far.

So, best I can figure, NASCAR cancelled qualifying because of the threat of rain. Score another one for the TV boys against the live fans. Sheesh. Next they will cancel practice today and give the TV boys another 10 minute commercial break for a "competition caution somewhere around lap 50. No matter that the real fans will get to watch 10 extra laps of parade at 40 mph under yellow. Watch the TV ratings take another dip and watch NASCAR and the TV boys remain clueless as to why that happens. Nice rant by me before the green flag even falls, eh? :duck:

Rain in Bristol, Tennessee. Now there will be three mandatory cautions. I bet they don't even get 250 green flag laps tomorrow and I bet they won't even have 30% of the seats filled. Another big TV ratings flop coming up. More cowbell!

Nascrap finally killed the golden goose with more needless rule changes, hardly anybody even watches races anymore.

Maybe one or two people I know go to Talladega or Daytona, that's about it.

Did we start in the back? I missed qualifying.

Edit: Never mind.

No, they decided not to do qualifying on Friday. There was rain in the area but not at the track. Don't ask me why NASCRAP does these things to itself. Matt is giving up so much on every restart that this segment racing is just killing him. It takes us old guys a long time to realize that full out effort is no longer enough to compete. Matt will have to practice his restarts enough to figure out a couple of things that will actually improve his speed on restarts. Most of us never manage to figure anything out that works better than what we have always done. Most of us can just resign ourselves to being less quick, having lower top speeds, and not having as much strength as we had as young guys. We are a lot smarter, but that hardly ever translates to guile on a race track. Even at 45, Matt has enough to run on the lead lap most of the time. I guess what I am saying is that there will be no actual 'Golden Years' Get a lot done when you are still young because you don't want to get old carrying an extensive bucket list. ;-)

Uh, guys? The flared skirt thing was the week before Easter.

What do we win if finishing position is the same as the number of fans in the stands? 'Cuz I like our odds!

Just about to finally crack the top 10 and... speeding penalty, lap 388.

lol. Speeding penalty. Every time Matt gets near the top 10 disaster strikes. Can't make it up.

We pitted there? Unless they needed fuel, what was the point? Take some chances, for crissakes.

Geez.
