No, they decided not to do qualifying on Friday. There was rain in the area but not at the track. Don't ask me why NASCRAP does these things to itself. Matt is giving up so much on every restart that this segment racing is just killing him. It takes us old guys a long time to realize that full out effort is no longer enough to compete. Matt will have to practice his restarts enough to figure out a couple of things that will actually improve his speed on restarts. Most of us never manage to figure anything out that works better than what we have always done. Most of us can just resign ourselves to being less quick, having lower top speeds, and not having as much strength as we had as young guys. We are a lot smarter, but that hardly ever translates to guile on a race track. Even at 45, Matt has enough to run on the lead lap most of the time. I guess what I am saying is that there will be no actual 'Golden Years' Get a lot done when you are still young because you don't want to get old carrying an extensive bucket list.
