I'm not saying we'll need a win in every round to make the retirement speech from the head table, but it won't hurt to get a win in every round.

As a former sponsor says, "Let's do this."

I'll be at the race this weekend ... hope I am Matt's good luck charm. He won here a few years ago when I attended. It should be a solid track for him .. he could win it .. probably top 10 for sure.

Not a good practice - 15th in qualifying trim, slowest among the JGR/FRR cars (with 4 of the other 5 the top 4).

Starting 10th after finishing 1st in the first round and needing a 2nd run in the 2nd round to make it to the final.

Could be worse - Kahne is starting 25th.

Go matt. Ill take a 10th start spot. Wanna see a win, but if not this week, a seafood dinner next week would be great. Worst case - which wouldn't be bad either is a monster win. But let's win here 1st.

Just an average finish of 7th over the next three races and we move on to the next round. But, the more points the merrier, so we need to see a couple of segment wins during the next three races, as well. The pit crew is nailing it right now, so it is time for Jason and Matt to start nailing it down. Chicago would be a great place to make that big statement. Go get it #20!

9th overall in the second practice (178.589 mph, 2 mph off Truex but the 2nd-fastest Toyota), 3rd (of 18) in 10-lap average (175.846 mph, 0.8 mph off Elliott and the fastest Toyota).

Got it on good authority that Matt has a very fast long run car ... might be a player in tomorrow's race.

As long as the weather holds out, at least. Looks like the track may get a bit wet this afternoon.

Speaking of rain, NASCAR and NBC have moved things up 10 minutes. Green flag now scheduled for 2:06 pm Central.
